Centurion Corporation Limited (“Centurion” or the “Group”) develops, owns and operates quality accommodation assets, as well as manufactures and sells optical storage media. Its roots began in 1981 as an audio cassette tape manufacturing business in Singapore. Over the years, it grew to become one of the market leaders in the optical storage media industry and was listed on the mainboard of the SGX-ST in 1995. Following a reverse acquisition exercise in 2011, the Group successfully diversified into the accommodation business to capture the growth opportunities in this niche market.

Today, Centurion is one of the largest independent accommodation owner-operators in Singapore, with accommodation assets located in Malaysia, Indonesia and Australia. The Group currently has a strong portfolio of eight operational workers accommodation assets, managed under the Westlite brand, with over 38,000 beds in Singapore and Malaysia. Upon completion of upgrading works of development of three new accommodation assets, the Group’s accommodation portfolio is expected to expand to approximately 54,000 beds by the end of 2015.

Beyond Singapore and Malaysia, the Group owns a site for the development of workers accommodation in Jakarta, Indonesia. It also owns a land plot in Port Hedland, Western Australia where it intends to develop a short-stay accommodation for workers and business executives in the region’s mining industry.

Leveraging its expertise in workers accommodation, the Group has since diversified into the student accommodation business with the acquisition of RMIT Village in Melbourne, Australia. Besides enhancing and redeveloping this asset, the Group plans to explore more student accommodation opportunities in Australia and other key educational hubs.

With a clear growth strategy to actively enhance its assets, identify acquisitions and joint ventures in the region, as well as develop customised accommodation management services to third party owners, Centurion is well positioned to be one of the leading providers of quality accommodation in the region.
